Flapjack
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp black treacle
- 2 tbsp low fat margarine
- 1 cup of oats
- 2 tbsp sultanas
- 2 tbsp raisins
- 2 handfuls pumpkin seeds
- 8 dates (stones removed and chopped)
Optional: mashed bananas
Method
- Pre-heat oven to 180șC / gm4
- In a bowl mix your margarine and black treacle smooth.
- Add your oats, pumpkin seeds, raisins, sultanas and dates and mix thoroughly so all ingredients are coated well.
- Grease a baking tray and pour all the mixture into the middle of the tray.
- With two spoons flatten roughly into a flat square shape.
- Now use a biscuit cutter or flat knife to straighten all the sides out and flatten the top evenly.
- Using your flat cutter divide the flapjack mixture into 5 strips then cut one line straight through all 5 strips to give you 10 bars.
- Place in the oven and cook for 20-25 minutes.
- When they are cooked leave the health bars to cool on the tray.
Fruit and Peanut Butter Wrap
Ingredients
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 (half) an apple
- 6 tsp peanut butter, crunchy or smooth
- 1 wrap (preferably wholemeal)
Method
- Peel and slice the banana very thinly. Place in a bowl and toss with the lemon juice.
- Quarter and core the apple. Slice into wafer thin slices and add to the bowl with the banana. Mix well.
- Warm the wrap in the microwave for about 10 seconds.
- Spread 6 tsp of peanut butter over the wrap. Place the banana slices and the apple slices over the top of the wrap. Roll up and enjoy immediately or refrigerate until later.
